Society of Environmental Journalists slams Feds for failure to comply with FOI

The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) has said that the obstacles put in the way of the press seeking to report on the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, are but another example of failure on the part of the state to allow access to key information about environmental issues.

In its report: "A Flawed Tool — Environmental Reporters' Experiences With the Freedom of Information Act" Society claims that Federal government is failing to comply with its duty under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and allow access to information and associated data which the public have a right to know about.
